What we're about...

What we're about...

We love UPCYCLED art and a unique gift idea, so we work to create unusual frames and upcycled SCRABBLE ART– like Scrabble jewelry. We have Scrabble art for dog lovers (because we specialize in vintage dog stuff), but we also have other themed Scrabble jewelry and we’re adding more all the time!

Some of the newest themes we’ve added to our Scrabble jewelry include Star Wars, Van Gogh, Harry Potter and Banned Books and Paris…plus many more! You just never know what upcycled SCRABBLE ART we’ll come up with next…we love creating new Scrabble jewelry!!

We specialize in unique gift ideas for dog lovers, so we hope people will check us out when looking for upcycled dog jewelry or a cool DOG FRAME. We work hard to have lots to offer!

Our journey is crazy busy sometimes, the financial end can be a struggle, we don’t know how we’ll keep going, but then…oh my…the ideas come, people send wonderful notes about our stuff, and we’re working together for ourselves. So…our handcrafted journey continues. We hope you’ll stop by now and then. We love that this business opens us up to the whole world…how amazing of a journey is that!

LAURA INGALLS WILDER / Little House on the Prairie / Upcycled / Scrabble Jewelry

Watching the show Little House on the Prairie was a regular event for many kids and households as I was growing up.  The show ran from 1974 - 1983!  Nine years...of Pa, Ma, Laura (Half Pint), Mary, Mr. Edwards, Nelly and all the rest.

The woman who wrote all the stories (including Little House on the Prairie) that transfixed so many girls through the years is, of course, Laura Ingalls Wilder.  The Little House on the Prairie show was based upon the family's time in Kansas, but the Ingalls actually moved many, many times.  Pa had a bit of wanderlust.

It's interesting that words that kept my attention when I was young still hold such sentiment.  As an adult, I have been fortunate to visit several of her home sites and they still hold an emotional connection.  To stand and see where Laura would watch Almanzo coming around the corner in the sleigh out of the town of De Smet is pretty amazing.

And when you look on the net, I'm not the only one interested in the life of this prolific author.  There are people writing about getting their children interested in Laura Ingalls Wilder, information pages and blogs -like this :-) .  An official Laura Ingalls Wilder website can be found here

She still captures the imagination of young and old.  She will forever, I think, be at the heart of American writing and pioneer living, as well as in the heart of Americans and the world.

It is to her and my love of her books that I have created this new bracelet.
